Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IMS Core Engineer to design, implement, optimize, and support IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core network components for voice and multimedia services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IMS architecture, VoLTE/VoWiFi, SIP signaling, and core network elements, ensuring high availability, performance, and service quality in telecom environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain IMS Core network elements such as CSCF (P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF), HSS/UDM, TAS, SBC, and related components
- Support VoLTE, VoWiFi, and multimedia services across IMS platforms
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of SIP signaling, call flows, and service issues
- Monitor IMS network performance, capacity, and KPIs, and implement optimization initiatives
- Work closely with RAN, Core, NOC, and Service teams to ensure end-to-end service stability
- Participate in network upgrades, migrations, integrations, and vendor releases
- Ensure compliance with telecom standards (3GPP, ETSI) and security best practices
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures
- Provide L2/L3 support and participate in on-call or maintenance windows as required
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of IMS architecture and call flows
- Hands-on experience with SIP, Diameter, RTP, and TCP/IP protocols
- Experience with VoLTE and VoWiFi service deployment and support
- Working knowledge of CSCF, HSS/HLR, SBC, TAS, and Media Gateways
- Experience troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, trace analyzers, and protocol logs
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic scripting (Shell, Python preferred)
- Understanding of high availability, redundancy, and scalabilityin carrier-grade networks
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with IMS vendors such as Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Oracle, or Mavenir
- Knowledge of 5G Core integration with IMS
- Exposure to NFV/SDN, Kubernetes, or cloud-based IMS deployments
- Experience with automation, CI/CD, or monitoring tools
- Telecom certifications or IMS-related training
